An Unforgettable Evening: Dinner with Parents of UConn Head Coach Dan Hurley - Bob and Chris Hurley - at Cafe Aura (Manchester, CT)
Bid for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share a meal with Bob and Chris Hurley — the couple who raised the man who has made UConn the most dominant program in college basketball.
The meal will be at a mutually agreeable time before the end of calendar year 2026 at Cafe Aura, the renowned Italian restaurant in Manchester, Connecticut owned by Hall of Fame UConn Women’s Basketball head coach, Geno Auriemma.
Since arriving in Storrs in 2018, Dan Hurley has revitalized the UConn program and cemented its blue blood status, leading the Huskies to back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024 — the first in program history. Along the way, he led UConn to a modern era NCAA Tournament-record 13 consecutive wins, winning all 12 games during the back-to-back title runs by double digits — itself an NCAA record.
None of it happened by accident. Even now, after Final Fours and championship nets, Dan still scans the arena stands to make eye contact with his parents — a reminder of where it all started.
Bob Hurley Sr. is a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame coach who built his legacy not in college arenas, but in the gym at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City — instilling the toughness, discipline, and love of the game that Dan carried all the way to Storrs. Chris has been by his side throughout, famously serving as scorekeeper during Bob's coaching days, and remaining the steady, warm heart of the Hurley family.
Over dinner, you'll get an intimate look at the family behind the Huskies dynasty. What did they see in Dan that the rest of the world is only now catching up to? What does it feel like to watch their son pace the sideline of a national championship game? Bob's own words say it best: "You have to enjoy the journey. It can't be about the destination."
For any UConn fan, this is the ultimate experience — an evening with the people who made it all possible.
Go Huskies.
