Women's Basketball Hallway Mural #2

The Dynasty in Full Force.

This powerful mural captures the championship legacy and emotional peaks of UConn Women’s Basketball, bringing together the players, celebrations, and unforgettable moments that defined one of the greatest dynasties in sports history.

At the center is one of the most recognizable images in UConn Basketball history: Diana Taurasi (#3), arms raised with a championship trophy. As the face of the Huskies’ early-2000s dominance, Taurasi helped lead UConn to back-to-back national championships in 2003 and 2004 and cemented her place among the greatest players to ever wear the UConn uniform.

Surrounding her are other Husky greats from this era and the generations that followed — including Swin Cash, Tina Charles, and Maya Moore. Together, they represent the players who built an unprecedented championship tradition.

Players cutting down nets, raising trophies, embracing teammates, and celebrating on the court are layered throughout the mural, creating a visual tribute to the moments that made UConn synonymous with winning.

Located in the hallway outside the women’s locker room at Gampel Pavilion, the mural served as a daily reminder to generations of Huskies of the standard inside — championships were the expectation.

This isn’t a mural about one season or one team. It captures an era of dominance, the stars who defined it, and the championship culture that made UConn Women’s Basketball a dynasty.
